Dear participants in Notre Dame’s Religious Education Program:

The academic year in our program is coming to an end. We have two events coming up, First Reconciliation (Confession) and First Communion. I am also planning for next year.

No class Memorial Day weekend (Sunday May 25)

For next year:
We have one more formal class (on Sunday June 2). I am hoping that everyone is returning, but so that we know how many books to order, could you let us know officially during the class with an advance payment of $30 toward the registration fee for next year. This will help us have an accurate count, and assist the parish as we buy books for next year. I will send out advance intention registration slips in another email.

First Reconciliation:
This sacramental celebration will take place on Saturday June 1 at 3:30. If you have any questions about whether your child should make his or her confession, or about the details of the sacrament please contact me.

First Communion
First Communion is scheduled for Sunday June 9 during the 11:30 mass. We hope all the students attend to support their classmates. The students who were confirmed last weekend will be recognized.

If your child is making First Communion, there will be rehearsal on Saturday June 8 (time to be announced, but it will be in the afternoon). On the day of the communion, June 9, please arrive at the Church at 10:30. Each family will have a reserved pew. As for photographs, please limit photography during the mass (and please NO FLASH) remembering that this is a solemn liturgy. Afterward, cake and drinks are provided in the walkway for a short reception.

Dress: girls should wear white (no veils). Boys will be given white ties. White suits are not required, but this is a formal occasion, and they should dress appropriately.

Our Confirmation ceremony will be with the French community on Saturday May 18 at 10 am. Feel free to join us, and if you cannot attend, please support our candidates in your prayers.

First communion will take place during the 11:30 mass on Sunday June 9, followed by a short reception.

Thanks to everyone who made our recents events, the workshop and the crowning, such inspiring days. Special thanks to Sophie Mervoyer, Father Enrique Salvo, Chistopher Luccarelli and, as always, Claire Hripscsak. The beautiful bouquet was courtesy of Juliana's grandmother, and the lovely flower crown came through Patricia Schuett.
Again, if you have questions, please let me know.

Enjoy your weekend!

Best,

Beth
